About Leah Kiczula

Leah Kiczula is a graduate of the Pacific Northwest College of Art  and a photographer, print maker, and artist living and working in Portland, OR. She first began cataloging the headbanger in 2011 with the collection "Where I come from we wear flannel to metal show..." Since then she has continued photographing all types of metal heads, from guitarists to biologists. Aside from photographing headbanging, she is also interested in myth, legend, folk lore, and fairy tales. Leah works in many different mediums including photography, photogravure, screen printing, and lithography. She also does graphic design and layout for flyers, posters, stickers, and albums.  Aside from art, Leah is a metal head who enjoys a good show, floating down rivers in the summer, and listening to history podcasts. 





About Ladies of Heavy Metal 2014 Calendar and Resource Guide

The purpose of the Ladies of Heavy Metal  2014 calendar will be to catalog the essence of the Heavy Metal lady, headbanging!

The Calender will feature the women of metal who live, work, and thrive in the Pacific northwest. Each month will feature one Heavy Metal lady, a photograph of her unique headbanging style, a short biography, and links to all the awesome that stuff she does.

It will also serve as a resource guide for finding different blogs, journals, books, products, and services that are both heavy metal awesome and done by women. The goal of the calender is to spot lite the amazing women of metal and all that they do.
